Randwick Home

The devil is in the detail around every corner of this award-winning kitchen.

Client Brief:

For this traditional house in the leafy Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, clients wanted a traditional kitchen to match. As big fans of natural stone, they wanted it incorporated into the kitchen design on the benchtop, and to include state of the art appliances including a SubZero fridge and Wolf free standing stove and oven. Easy, arm’s reach storage for cooking essentials was also desired for this cooking-loving client.

Focal Design Elements:

This elegant kitchen draws on a traditional framed, Hamptons style design with a focus on quality, hand painted finishes. The statement piece is the extraordinary marble benchtop and island, made from natural stone in Super White. It’s gloriously curved pilaster on the main bench and four island corners create scale and weight for this neutral kitchen, drawing the eye in with its detail and texture. The stone detail also features grooves for drainage, incorporated into the bench by the sink.

The inclusion of the pot filler at the back of the splashback not only adds convenience to cooking, but it creates visual detail and nods to the home’s heritage. Recessed marble shelving either side of the mantle house everyday cooking essentials.
